Every student will have the opportunity to participate in the cultural and sporting life of the school. These are the opportunities to have fun, build relationships with students and coaches, develop the confidence to participate and build leadership and competence in particular sports and cultural activities.
Sporting Opportunities:
Basketball, Rugby, Volleyball, Turbo Touch, Waka Ama, Ki o Rahi, Netball (and other sports if there is enough interest)
Cultural Opportunities:
Kapa haka, Drama / Dance / Debating (other cultural opportunities where there is enough interest)
Leadership Opportunities:
Board of Trustees Student Representative
One student from the Year 9-13 group is eligible to stand for election each year to represent student voice on the Board of Trustees.
Head Students
A team of Year 13 students to lead the whole school. This team is led by the head girl and head boy.
Associate Leaders
Puna Ako Groups use distributed leadership to ensure that every young person has the opportunity to develop as a leader. They may assist the Puna Ako teacher in ensuring quality learning in the Puna Ako Group or be mentored to develop their leadership skills throughout the Pathways programme.
